Becky & Adam’s Pre Wedding Shoot – Old Portsmouth, Hampshire – Why an engagement shoot is a GOOD thing!

Romance is in the air and the anticipation of a lifetime together comes to a crescendo in the fleeting months and weeks leading up to your wedding causing you to wonder; Is an engagement shoot really necessary? After all, don’t the wedding images represent the beginning of our lives together?

I am a professional female Wedding photographer in Hampshire and Dorset and I believe that having an engagement shoot is important for several reasons and non more important than the reason I faced yesterday when chatting over what we wanted to do with Becky and Adam’s pre wedding shoot – Becky’s nerves! The pre wedding shoot is a great opportunity for you to get comfortable in front of the lens.

You might, until now, never have liked having your photograph taken, I can understand that having gone from a little girl who loved to flaunt it in front of the camera (and just as well because my dad always had his camera out!) to now preferring to be behind the lens! Having the pre wedding shoot can be a great way for you to relax in front of the lens knowing that there is absolutely no way I am going to be taking images that are not flattering of you. I was showing Becky and Adam the images in camera as we went along and watched with joy as I saw Becky become more and more confident in front of the lens. By the end of the shoot Becky was looking fantastic, comfortable and confident, I’m sure you will agree after looking at my favourite images from their shoot.

I am so looking forward to Becky and Adam’s vintage wedding in August in Porchester Castle and then down at the Explosions Museum, if yesterday was anything to go by they are both going to be a contemporary and stylish wedding photographer’s dream!

To find out about the second reason a Pre Wedding Shoot is necessary please check back later in the week.
