As a Professional Wedding Photographer working in the New Forest I have been looking forward to Vickie and Mickey’s Big Day for ages, not only are they both a lot of fun to be with, I was also going to be working at one of my favourite hotels, the Macdonald Elmer’s Court and with the amazingly creative Owen from Little Lillies and Matthew from Teardrop Films. I can’t explain why it’s so much easier working with professional wedding suppliers you know well, maybe it’s the respect we have for each other’s work or maybe just because you know that everyone is looking out for each other, whatever it is I can’t recommend high enough that you ask your favourite suppliers who they recommend for a smooth and professionally supported wedding day leaving you safe in the knowledge you can enjoy your big day with no worry or stress.
What can I say about the day apart from it was fabulous from start to finish! Both Vickie, Mickey and all their friends and family were on top form, full of jokes and surprises and absolutely fabulous to be among and photograph! Vickie’s dream day of getting married outside and bringing the forest inside to their venue (with the amazing creations by Owen from Little Lillies) I think exceeded all of her expectations and being the ambitious and committed lady she is those expectations were high! Watching and photographing both of their emotions as the day unfolded was a true honour and one I will remember for a long time.
I have to make a special mention of the wonderful Byron, one of the ushers whose job was to help me out with the organisation of the group photos, Byron took his responsibilities very seriously and despite the ribbing he got through the day from us all I can’t thank him enough! Best of luck to you and your lovely lady for the birth of your little one in the next few weeks, I hope all goes well and if you ever want the new addition to your family photographed you know where to come!!!
Another great event of the day was one I have been dreading for ages – Vickie’s horse Belle and Mia’s pony Atom were coming along to Elmers Court for a few photos and as I think most people know by now I am petrified of horses! Both Atom and Belle were perfectly turned out and well behaved and I have to wonder whether I might have been a little wrong about those gorgeous animals!! Huge thanks for Vickie’s patience with me and coaching to ensure I got some great shots for her – I hope you’re going to like them!
So whilst the happy couple jet off for their honeymoon here are a few photos from the day to tide you over – the gallery may be a few days late in uploading but please watch this space and I’ll let you know as soon as we have a date for you all to see them! Please feel free to leave your comments until then…
