You’re new to all this Wedding Photography malarkey so will probably have bazillions of questions running through your head at the thought of spending out on a good photographer?! To try and help you answer some of those questions, I’ve put together some of the most popular I’ve been asked in the past… If the answer to your question isn’t listed below please give me a call or book an appointment so I can give you the personal attention you need. You can contact me on 07866 440740 or by emailing email@example.com
Other people can offer me 2 photographers for the same price, why do you shoot alone?
Firstly, I don’t always shoot alone, if you are having a particularly large wedding or very specific requirements I will recommend you also book my second photographer. However in most circumstances I do shoot alone because I believe it is less obtrusive and I am confident I can capture every element of your wedding day, even the bits you don’t see! We’ll get together to plan out the timings of your day giving you confidence that you and I are in the right places at the right time and this means you can relax and enjoy your whole day knowing I am in control and your day running smoothly. Have a read through THIS BLOG for more info
How long do you stay?
My style is very much based around capturing your whole day from Bridal preparation through to the First dance so to answer the question pretty much all day! This way I can record the whole story for you and your wedding album. I tend to step out after the first dance as by then I would probably start needing to use flash and as I try, wherever possible, to shoot without flash and as it gets darker obviously this gets harder and I want the attention to be on you two rather than on me flashing (the camera!) away!
Where are you based and will you travel?
I am based in Romsey, Hampshire (between Winchester, Southampton and Salisbury) and am happy to travel anywhere! However if your wedding is over 50 miles from Romsey I may have to charge you some fuel costs – let’s talk and see what I can do for you.
What’s a Pre Wedding (or Engagement) Shoot and why should I do it?
An engagement shoot or pre wedding shoot, is an opportunity for us to get together and for you to not only see how I work, but also get the confidence that you are going to look exactly how you imagined without the pressure of it being on your Special Day! It’s a great opportunity for us to spend some time together so I can understand more about your relationship and make sure I am capturing your special portraits that reflect the both of you. The great news is that unlike other photographers, every collection I offer includes a complimentary Engagement Shoot so no extra cost to you just a few hours of fun! You can also use the images from the shoot for Save the date cards, your Invitations, guest books, photo signature mounts etc and I have a little something special up my sleeve that I am going to use them for – pop in for an appointment to find out what!
How much will it cost me?
I’m not going to tell you porkie pies, I am not the cheapest photographer around, but I do believe my prices reflect the passion, effort, and time I take over getting to know you and capturing your Special day the way you have always dreamed of coupled with the professional editing and album design that I offer with every collection. I have a range of collections available starting from £1699.00 that can be tailored to your exact requirements. My prices also reflect the fact I am an experienced, full time, professional photographer who has invested heavily in training and development to ensure I offer only the very best quality service to you. I have also invested in the correct equipment (and back up equipment) so you will have peace of mind you will be getting excellent quality images. I also have both professional liability and indemnity insurance to make sure that you are fully protected.
What happens if you are ill on the day?
It’s really important to stress that this has never happened to me, when you meet me you’ll understand that I’m just not the sort of person who lets people down, it’d have to be some really REALLY bad reason to stop me following through on my promise to you! However if for some horrific reason I can’t make your big day I am lucky enough to have a wide circle of colleagues within the industry that can cover for me, the first pool of people I talk to are the ones I trained with so you know you are still going to get exactly what you paid for in terms of the actual images. The second pool are a small group of professional photographers local to me whose work I admire and respect and know that they will do a great job of capturing your day too. If for any bizarre reason there is no one available from those two pools of people then I would contact my professional body the Master Photographers Association and get you a replacement from there!
We have seen your online Portfolio but can we see some samples of you albums? Heck yes! I love my albums and I’d love to show them to you! I have a selection of albums I can show you that explain the style and approach I take photographing your Big Day. My studio is based in Romsey and I’m happy to meet up with you over a cuppa and cookies one evening. Just give me a call on 07866 440740 and let’s see when we’re all free.
Why do you keep the copyright to our wedding photos?
This is actually standard practice amongst all professional photographers and nothing to be afraid of (unless another photographer is saying they will give you the copyright – be aware!). As soon as a photograph is taken the copyright is afforded to the photographer who owns the image even after they are long gone! If you are purchasing digital images, you will receive a license to print and share the images in any (non commercial) way you want.
We love it! How can we book you?
I’m really glad, I love it too, can you tell? I’d like to meet with you to find out more about your big day so give me a call on 07866 440740 and let’s get a date in the diary for a cuppa and cookies and talk through dreams and make them a reality. You only need to pay a booking fee of £400 to secure your date, the balance in then due 30 days before your wedding day.
