The most gorgeous dresses that the UK has to offer coming soon too Brides of Winchester

In the second of our info blogs Brides of Winchester share their latest advent to the White Gallery 2014/2015 UK designer Dress collections.

We have an unwavering commitment to find our lovely brides-to-be the best, most gorgeous dresses that the UK has to offer and to this end we made our annual trip to London earlier this month. For a luxury bridal boutique like Brides of Winchester, this is a crucial time when we view the new designer collections and pick a key number of gowns from each. Like kids in a candy store the temptation is always to buy everything in sight. How do we decide?

Over the 3 days we met with most of our designers who impart pearls of wisdom and knowledge. What inspired each gown, how they source the finest fabrics and laces, the bespoke changes that can be made and what body shape the gown is aimed to flatter. Three days of amazing dresses and acres and acres of silk, organza and lace.  It’s a tough job but someone has to do it!

As you can imagine this annual pilgrimage is pure bridal-wear heaven and we can honesty say that the brides of 2015 are in for a treat! Our designers didn’t disappoint, with a whole new host of wedding dresses to swoon over. We have chosen some fabulous frocks which will start coming into the shop in Autumn and I’m sure we  won’t be able to resist posting photos of them on our Facebook page,www.facebook.com/bridesofwinchester, so keep your eyes peeled!

We will be holding some very exciting events this year to launch the new collections and strongly suggest you sign up to our mailing list so that you are the first to know. You can register your interest by clicking here.

Anyway enough from us, let the dresses do the talking! Enjoy ladies.

Stewart Parvin

Our first stop was Stewart Parvin at his boutique in Beauchamp Place and what a start! With a glass of champagne (or coffee in Laura’s case, you know how she needs her caffeine) we settled down to a chic catwalk show. Stewart’s signature impeccable tailoring and structure was clear to see with ballet influences apparent in soft and fluid style dresses. Delicate Chantilly lace and elegant beading all part of this feminine and graceful collection. We felt that some of the dresses had a Fifth Avenue and Hitchcock air about them with full bodied skirts nipped in at the waist and pockets that just create that perfect photographic moment.

Sassi Holford

Girls who have visited BOW, will know that Hayley has more than a little penchant for bows, so she was totally delighted to see Sassi Holford had continued with this trend and featured them on some of her new collection. The “many options jacket” is also a favorite with BOW and we were ecstatic to see some gorgeous jackets and belts to go over simple silk gowns that give girls the option to have two (or more)  looks on their wedding day.

Suzanne Neville – The Novello Collection

We viewed Suzanne’s new collection, named “The Novello Collection” at a catwalk event at the very glamorous Tower of London. It seemed quite apt that the new collection was showcased alongside the Crown Jewels and it certainly didn’t disappoint.

“Novello” is described as capturing “the essence of British eccentricity in theatre and costume, evoking London’s past and present…the collection is as diverse as it is dramatic…the bride is the star of the show on her day, the wedding gown her costume”… this sums up the collection perfectly and we couldn’t have put it better ourselves. Gorgeous striking backs, appliqued lace and beading, full and dramatic skirts and sumptuous laces, we had our work cut out choosing our favourites.

Blue Bridalwear

We are a huge fan of the look that Blue Bridalwear dresses deliver and its always a treat to see what new designs they have come up with whilst sticking to their signature style of contemporary 1950?s. This year the classic Blue Bridalwear style was updated with sumptuous silk damask and gossamer organza. Fans of Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly will not be dissapointed and those looking for a shorter dress will be in for a treat as we have chosen some gorgeous shorties for you.

So Sassi

So Sassi is known for appealing to stylish, contemporary, younger brides and those looking for a more “non traditional” dress will not be disappointing by the new 2015 collection.  Moving away from more traditional laces the new collection features more unusual, feminine laces combined with delicate tulles and chiffons. Necklines are more demure, but with unique striking details like laser cut detailing or with contrasting low, detailed feminine backs.
