I met with Heidi-Marie yesterday to visit her wonderful wedding venue, Marwell Hall. Heidi-Marie, Ian and her 2 boys are frequent visitors to Marwell Zoo and obviously passionate about the park, as part of their wedding package they have full access to the animals in the park so we went along to check out some potential locations for her wedding photos.
The actual Hall is a beautiful Grade I listed building and part of the building is medieval dating from the 13th century and it was owned by the Bishop of Winchester. A later resident was Sir Henry Seymour, brother of Jane Seymour, Henry VIII’s third wife. It is very probable that Henry VIII visited Marwell and it is rumoured that he had a private marriage ceremony before his official one at Marwell Hall so Heidi-Marie and Ian will be in good company having their wedding ceremony there in July 2012.
Despite the rain we had a great look around the park including the tigers and the giraffe house where Heidi-Marie and Ian will be going in October to have their photos taken (by myself) as another part of their wedding package. The whole set up is beautiful and feels a very natural place to visit the amazing animals they house there. We found some great locations and I’m already looking forward to photographing this special day for Heidi-Marie and Ian, we even have a few secrets up our sleeves!
